Taos had a little Christmas excitement before we left home. Janna and Mike invited us all to their house for a little pre-Christmas linner. As usual, I forgot to take any photos of people, but I did manage a few shots of the big guy's joy.....and Janna's delicious Lemon pie!

After a few beautiful days in Lake Havasu, we're now sitting at our nice, quiet site in Desert Hot Springs (Catalina Spa and RV Resort) until Christmas day. Flat Stanley is lit, and our little Palm Springs silver tree is sitting on Beluga's dashboard. Let Christmas begin!

Back to the beginning of this mini trip....Lake Havasu City. The weather was just about perfect. Sunny and warm, but not hot. Beautiful sunsets over the lake. We had a great site at Lake Havasu State Park, right next to Pam and John!
We were there to eat and visit and see the beautiful light displays around the London Bridge.

Pam made and brought several goodies for us to sample. Even Taos enjoyed treats from Gramma Pamma. Thanks Pam!

After dinner we walked under the Bridge and along the canal, enjoying the colorful lights and the kids having a ball playing in the fake snow. Soapy snow foam looks Christmasy but isn't the best for making snow angels....

One afternoon Dave and I (and Taos) went into "downtown" Lake Havasu City looking for a few groceries. We were happily surprised to find the main street filled with beautiful classic cars. Every parking spot was taken by old Ford coupes, resto mods, corvettes, hellcats, roadsters and rat rods. etc. We walked the entire street, stopping here and there to ogle, and perhaps eat a little ice cream....
After dinner (Barley Bros. Brewery) we all piled into our Jeep and set off to follow a map I found that would lead us through various neighborhoods to view individual's Christmas displays. Dave drove, John worked Google Maps, and we found 12 of the 31 homes on the list. Too much food in our bellies was making us all sleepy and driving through dark street after dark street was taking its toll on us all. We'll finish the list next year!

In case you're tired of Christmas lights.....here's Annie!
Oh thanks for posting. So fun to see Taos being a puppy and not on duty. Oh that Annie she is a delight! Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year! Dee
ReplyDeleteWe were shocked to see Taos race around like a real dog! In all the time we've had him, he's never had that much energy or shown any inclination to run around and play! Oh, maybe a few minutes of jolly ball play but never completely cutting loose! He slept for a whole day afterward! Merry Christmas to you.
DeleteThe Christmas lights are beautiful but Annie always win!
ReplyDeleteHa Ha! Annies silly smile does light up the room doesn't it.... Happy Christmas to you.
DeleteJohn and Pam AND Mike and Janna?!?! Toas looks humiliated in his reindeer antlers but looks like he had lots of fun with Kayce!
ReplyDeleteYep, it was great to see Janna and Mike before we left for Lake Havasu and then get to spend time with Pam and John there. Taos enjoyed his time in both places, lucky guy! Happy Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThose are great photos of Taos on the run. Perhaps his inner dog is breaking through. Havasu spares no expense or effort with their lighting.
ReplyDeleteHa! He really let his inner dog out that day! We were totally shocked to see him play with such abandon. It made us tear up a bit...... Happy Christmas to you and Jim.
DeleteHi Sue…that is a lot of lights! So very festive and what a fun time to be parked right next door to great friends to enjoy them with. I love the snowmen and their expressions…especially the one with the sign that says too warm. And the bridge is gorgeous! I love seeing Flat Stanley and the expression of Taos wearing the antlers. Seeing Taos and Kaycee running g and playing put a big smile on my face! Enjoy the hot tubs and I just know your photos of yummy meals will make my mouth water! Merry Christmas to you, Dave and Taos!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gay...we did have a fun time in Havasu. It's close enough to be easy to access and different enough to give us a travel fix!
DeleteHave a great time--I too will drool over your food photos! I still laugh every time I see those photos of Taos and Kayce playing--they had so much fun! Such a cute Annie photo--those curls!
ReplyDeleteThank you for inviting Taos along, and thanks to your little girl for being such a good hostess. He's still talking about it! Merry Christmas!
DeleteReally beautiful series of photos! Your dogs are adorable! Thank you so much for sharing, and Merry Christmas and warm greetings to you from Montreal, Canada.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
DeleteAnother wonderful visit to Lake Havasu. Thanks for joining us and setting up the reservations:) Now if we can just order that weather every year! It was about as perfect as you get. Love that Taos had some fun zooming around with a new friend. Ann's curls are quite tame. Such a cutie:)
ReplyDeleteYep, another fun trip. Please do order that weather again next year. It was perfect for me! Sometimes Annie's hat or hood tamps down those curls, but never for too long!
DeleteGreat Pictures, but Annie always steels the show.
ReplyDeleteStay Safe and Enjoy the adventures.
It's about time.
She is a show stealer isn't she!
