Tuesday

We're enjoying beautiful weather and beautiful surroundings here at Chatfield State Park.   Most of our time has been spent just relaxing or exploring during the day and visiting with Jesse and Erin for dinners.    Its so nice to be able to see them so often.

Saturday evening the four of us enjoyed dinner at Citizen Rail and then a fabulous Colorado Symphony performance of Mozart's Requiem at the Boettcher Concert Hall.

While Jesse and Erin slave away at their jobs, we jeep around the area or sit in the sun and read....or just play with sweet Lewis.   Nice work if you can get it!

so fun to go wherever we want!

The other day we drove south through Sedalia and across the Rampart Range to the South Platte River (and the north fork of the South Platte).   We always enjoy potching about in the water so this drive looked perfect for us three.

The road runs alongside the rushing river so there were only small stretches of "beach" available to us but I think we found most of them!

The three of us shared lunch by the water under a canopy of brilliant yellow.

The water was beautiful and clear and rioted around huge boulders in its path.
