Spur of the Moment Friday

We were planning on taking the Zodiac out this afternoon, it was another sunny, warm day and we're increasingly aware that our days in this water wonderland are numbered.

One of the really nice things about retirement is that we can do exactly as we please and change our minds just because we want to......As we enjoyed second cup outside, we talked about some of the things we wanted to do during our time here.   One of the places we've not visited is Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota.   We always said we'd like to go, driven past it for years, yet we never seemed to make the time.   So......no boat today.  Change of plans.

After lunch we drove along Sarasota Bay to the Botanical Gardens.    I have too many pictures to go over tonight, and I'm too tired, so I'll show them to you this weekend.

After a lovely afternoon wandering through the peaceful and beautiful grounds we stopped by Louie's Modern in downtown Sarasota and sat outside with a cool glass of white wine.    We were very pleasantly surprised to see a dear friend from our Colony Beach and Tennis Club days jogging by.    When she saw us, she stopped and we all had a good catch up visit.  So nice to see Katie again, she was part of our lives for many years and we realized that we'd missed her bright smile.

We talked so long we almost missed our dinner reservation at Ricks French Bistro.    No problem, Rick held our table and we were rewarded with our favorite dinners.

On the way home we stopped at Morton's Market to pick up a little sweetie for dessert (right Judi?).     We ate our goodies and watched the sun set at Coquina Beach before heading home to our sweet patient dogs.
