Wednesday at the beach

Finally, beach weather returns.    It was cloudy this morning, but fairly warm,  and the weather folks were telling us that rain would arrive around 2:30 this afternoon.    Nothing to do but load up the dogs, a bit of lunch and head to the beach to try and enjoy the best of the day.      We walked along the surf line while Lewis bucked and wheeled around chortling with glee.   The clouds gradually broke and a perfect crescent of blue sky opened over us.

We finally tired Lewis out so we could sit down and soak up the sun.   Dave opened the umbrella for the dogs - they don't enjoy laying in the sun as much as we do.   As soon as we give them shade, they both settle down and become sandy bathing beauties.

bathing beauty or sleeping beauty, you be the judge

It was hard to drag ourselves away from the beach, but we had a date at the Lowes for cocktails at 4, so we  packed up and walked back to the jeep.      We left the dogs happily sleeping in Beluga and strolled over to their site to meet Pam and John.   Steve made some delicious appetizers and we all enjoyed an hour or so of good conversation before heading off to Barefoot Landing and an italian dinner.

I took my camera into the restaurant this time and managed to take one very bad shot before putting it away and concentrating on what was truly important - good friends and good food.

Here's to you, Nina.   We wish you were here too!
