Again, I apologize

I think I jinxed myself yesterday.   How rude to show beach pictures when you all are battling below zero temperatures, gale force winds, cancelled flights, etc., etc..    I started this blog to show you what I see and hear and feel, so I guess that was my reasoning.

Ok, so today the temperatures dropped from 73 and sunny at second cup to 53 and falling fast at cocktail time.  The wind is blowing like a hurricane is coming and we've had to bring in the awning and lay everything down to keep stuff from flying away.   My herbs and plants are snug in Beluga's basement compartments and we're settling in for a cold night.    The furnace just kicked on.

We took sweet Sasha Marie to the vet this morning for a chest xray.   He said it was completely clear, it was the film of a young dog!    He palpated her illiac lymph nodes and they passed the test also, so we've scheduled surgery for removal of the anal sac mass for tomorrow morning.    Poor old girly can't understand why she isn't getting dinner tonight or any other goodies.   Just wait til she sees the Pedia-Lax tonight and no breakfast in the morning!

Wish us all luck tomorrow?

  1. We feel terrible when we have to withhold food from Bella. She just sits there and stares at us. I can barely take it. Hope all goes well tomorrow.

  2. Poor Sasha:( It is SO hard to have animals get sick. Hoping all goes well with Sasha. Please keep us posted.

Your weather turned really early. I looked at the temps and you were almost 20 degrees lower than down here. We didn't begin to cool until 4:00. Stay warm.

  6. Dear Sasha,
We all love you and wish you a speedy, speedy recovery (so you can regale us with more pictures of yourself sniffing, sleeping and curled on the couch with your friend, Lewis). We don't like the vet either (Luke tries to get under Mommy's arm and Glory tries to bark away the vet). And we really don't like NOT getting fed. That's the real bummer. You are so sweet-natured that the vet techs will all fall in love with you and probably argue about who gets to take care of you (as opposed to Glory where they have been known to flip a coin.) Bye for now,Sasha....

Love, Luke, Bijou and Glory (the little pistol)
