From the Front Range to the Western Slope

Sorry, no blog last night.  We're at Rifle Falls State Park and it is at the bottom of a beautiful but steep canyon.  No cell, No internet, No TV.  I'm sitting in the parking lot of a City Market in Rifle right now and the laptop is hot and heavy on my lap, so I'll be brief.

The drive through the Rockies was stunning, no other word to describe it, stunning.  I've a million pictures to show you, but they'll have to wait til we get to Moab, Utah, tomorrow.

This state park is beautiful, small and green with a very swift moving stream running through it.  Its hard to hear it though, millions of children here. As a matter of fact, I think we're the only site that doesn't have any.  They are all having a ball, riding bikes, scooters, chasing each other through the campsites, screaming, floating down the stream, playing in the spectacular falls......Not exactly our kind of place.  We walked up stream last night after dinner and it was absolutely beautiful, calm, peaceful, lovely.  In the day time, not so much.  The stream and falls seem to be a magnet for locals looking to cool off.  Glad we're moving on tomorrow.  This place would be perfect in the spring or fall I think.
