Campground plans were made, and then changed a few times. Tonight we're in south Tucson at a nice place called Justin's Diamond Campground. People are friendly, our site is large enough, but its just not our cup of tea. Most of the really nice sites are already filled and as a result, we're stuck in the middle of lots of vehicles. There is no cable TV, its very very windy and we're a long way from anything. So, we've decided to move back up closer to Tucson for the next week. I tried to renew our reservation at the wonderful Catalina State Park, but they're all full too! D amn snowbirds!!!!!
Oh well, its a good tutorial on going with the flow and doing what feels good when it feels good, right?
Yesterday we went to the farmer's market downtown (a little later than we'd wanted), bought some lovely small Campari tomatoes that smelled like real tomatoes, and some locally grown asparagus (sorry Peru), had lunch and then picked up Carm. We came back to Beluga and sat outside, sharing conversation and some nice sun tea. Lewis took a real liking to her and she to him. Later in the day we grabbed a bottle of wine and went back to her house for that aforementioned spaghetti dinner. Mmmmm. I managed to get her to tell me how she makes it so I look forward to trying my hand when we get home.
"girls" gotta giggle |
This morning we packed up our stuff and left our great B-13 site. On the way out, we discovered that Rick and JoAnne of rjrvtravels.com were right behind us. Too bad we were on our way out, these are two really good people and we'd love to have spent a bit of time getting to know them better. Lisa and Hans, check out their blog, they will be right near you in New Mexico very soon!
with this view from our Catalina campsite, we'll be back again later in the month.... |
these two mules and their riders head out to join the search for a lost hiker.... |
Well, I'll close for now. I've lots of things (bills) to do on this laptop tonight, better get to it....
Aaah...now this is more like it! Really missed your blogs! And the pictures were wonderful of you and Carm! How nice ....did you tell her how her house is empty now (she could move right in again and it could be like old times!)
ReplyDeleteLoved the mule picture ...someday I want to ride one. I better get to it!
Great to meet you, thanks so much for stopping by, and yep, it would have been nice to have more time to "hang out" and hear about your adventures. We'll continue following you via your blog as we have for some time. Travel safe!
ReplyDeleteToo bad you couldn't get back in to Catalina, gosh I loved that place! Hmmm...if you didn't like Justin's I don't think you'll like De Anza down here in Amado. There are hardly any plants to break up the monotony of the gravel and a bit of a drive to do anything...but they do have cable tv and decent internet! Snowbird season will be over soon...!!!
