We enjoyed our morning coffees outside and talked about what we wanted to do on our last few days here. It was decided to tour the Kartchner Caverns tomorrow afternoon and to bathe both dogs and trim Lewis today, while the weather was still toasty. Grooming him is not a chore, we've got the routine down pat, but the pre-grooming bath, while we're traveling, is often problematic. Our shower stall isn't really conducive to dog washing, so that leaves the cold water hose outside.....Sweet boy always appreciates a warm sunny day when we turn the icy stream on him.... It usually takes us at least 3 l/2 hours to do the complete job. The air is so dry here that by the time we finished with Sasha, Lewis was completely air dried....nice.
So, thats about it for today. Burgers on the grill and Person of Interest on TV, ho hum.....
We have two dogs which I have been grooming this past year, a Cocker Spaniel and our rescue dog who looks like a Wire-Haired Dachshund. I cut them first, then give them a bath...just wondered why you bathe Lewis first? Anyway, I figured the first grooming paid for the quality clippers I bought, and the other five or six groomings has kept money in our pockets! :)

Couldn't you warm the water and fill a blow up pool, then Lewis and Sasha wouldn't have to be cold!? Poor things!
ReplyDeleteHey, I'm with Pam ...poor Lewis and all that cold water. Maybe you need a solar panel with one of those outdoor shower stalls attached to Beluga. Brrrrr, Lewis...makes me shiver just thinking of that cold water shower. He'll think he's died and gone to heaven when he gets back to Bobbie and Pampered Paws!
ReplyDeleteSuzi - your headed to Patagonia Lake SP? We are heading there on Sunday. Hans and Lisa will also be there. Travel safe.
