on the road again, this time following the beast for some bird watching adventures |
We left our unexpectedly wonderful spot in Bisbee heading for some bird watching, boondocking adventures at White Water Draw. This is home to a large flock of Sandhill Cranes and we were hoping they would still be there this late in the season.

We're in a great spot, just two motorhomes and lots of birds. Tons of space around us, big open skies filled with beautiful cloud formations and, did I mention, lots of birds? Today we saw, but I didn't get a picture of,
Northern Shovelers, Snow Geese, Greater Yellowlegs, Black Phoebes, Sandhill Cranes, a hunting Harris Hawk, a Pyrrhuloxia, a Great Egret, a Night Heron, Green Winged Teals, a Says Phoebe, American Avocets, two Great Horned Owls and others we haven't identified yet.....Phew, we're exhausted...

Can Polly PLEASE come out and play? |
|
What was that? Did you hear that? What was that noise? Do Sandhill Cranes make that noise? |

And to top the day off we were treated to delicious Avocado Chocolate Mousse.....don't make that face, it was really, really good!
Lewis looks great ...at the Beast! And sweet Polly too. So nice to have good friends nearby! An unexpected treasure of your trip!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture of the Great Horn dad and mom.
ReplyDeleteWow! Sounds like you hit the jackpot with the birding. I do love the owls. How did you find them?
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of Lewis looking into the Beast. These two are really going to miss each other this summer. They've been having a lot of play time together.
