Sunday - Shuffle off to Buffalo

No sunset pictures from last night, but.....how about a rainbow over the river?

The rain passed and we were able to sit outside for second cup this morning.  Too bad we can't stay another day, its really pretty here.  I can show you what I see, but I wish I could let you hear what I hear.  The river makes the most delightful rushing sounds and the trees are full of birds.

second cup view, sigh.....

By the way, if you decide you'd like to stay here sometime, make sure you google Spring Creek Campground AND TROUT FARM in BIG TIMBER, MT......not Spring Creek Campground in Alabama.    Unless, of course, you're actually looking for an all male nudist campground.    Thanks for the info. Debbie!

We pulled out the long campground lane around 10:30 this morning, drove through the little town of Big Timber and got on the big road (I-90) heading east toward Billings.

We followed its curve south and into the corner of Wyoming to our stop for tonight.  Indian Campground in Buffalo, Wyoming.  Its a smallish, very neat and tidy town at 4600 (ish) feet of elevation.  We noticed wide streets and pretty little prairie style homes with manicured lawns.

We're parked under tall cottonwood trees  fairly close to the highway, but its pleasant enough and an easy stop for the night with good services.  Tomorrow we'll drive east to Sundance, Wyoming and then stay put for an extra day to rest and look around.  We'll see how tired Dave is at the end of the day, but our next campground is within driving distance of Devil's Tower and the Badlands.    Even these relatively short driving days (175-250 miles) begin to wear you down when you string too many of them together.  Add in fighting the strong winds and it is even more tiring for my dear driver.

  1. We know exactly what you mean which is why we decided to stay in St. Charles 12 days. We had been stringing those two nighters together for a few weeks. It really gets wears on you.

Don't over do it. Be safe!

  2. What a nice spot for a second cup of coffee. We also know about the one nighters...not our favorite part of RVing! The 4 pups don't like it either!

    Happy trails!
