Monday - last day in Wahweap

We woke to another beautiful sunny day.  No time to just sit around and enjoy it though, we had lots of things to accomplish today - our last day here at Wahweap Campground and Marina.  I put a load of laundry in and we managed to enjoy our second cup outside before the d amn wind came up again.

Dave jerry rigged a connection to our outdoor hot/cold shower connection so we could wash the dogs with warm water, outside.   Technically, we always had that option, but the original equipment hose that was attached to the outdoor shower was only 4 feet long!  I'd like to know who could shower outside the motorhome with a hose that was only 4 feet long!    It took a lot of thinking and running to hardware stores (in Fountain Hills, Scottsdale and Cottonwood) for him to acquire the right fittings to enable us to have hot and cold running water available in a convenient spot outside.

Worked like a  charm this morning and sweet Lewis got a nice warm bath in the sunshine.  He still shivered a bit, but it was the best we could do.    In this climate, he dried quickly without the aid of a blow dryer and arrived at Mr. David's Grooming Salon for his 1:00 appointment.  I had originally booked en plein air appointment for him, but the strong, gusty winds dashed our plans.  The session was moved inside at the last minute.  Very unsettling.

Lewis was a bit apprehensive when he saw Mr. David's less than professional atire.....

he's always embarrassed when Mr. David mows his junk

After Mr. David vacuumed up all the black wool and cleaned his shop and equipment, we settled the dogs, then ran into Page to do a few last minute errands.   After putting the groceries away and feeding the pooches, we picked our outside chairs back up, quickly anchored them down with our bodies and enjoyed a last night cocktail in this beautiful place.

Tomorrow we make an  hour's drive west to Kanab, Utah where we'll set up housekeeping again and do some volunteer work for about a week.

  1. You really out did yourself tonight with the blog! I had to read portions out loud to John. Poor Lewis! Thanks goodness he can't read the blog. He definitely would go into hiding!

Hope you had a relaxing last night! Travel safely and enjoy your week of volunteering. Great job you two!!

  2. I agree about the wind. Beautiful day, but it's ruined because of the wind. Fold up the chairs, and go inside.
You'll have to show us your outside shower mod when we meet up in OR. We also have that, but very difficult to wash the dogs with low pressure and short hose.
