Last installment in the little glass house saga....tear down
and, after MANY attempts to hook up the little glass house trailer, we bid them adieu. What will we watch now?
Many of you comment that I seem to post many more pictures of Lewis than I do of dear old Sasha. In the interest of equal time, here are a couple shots of Sasha at second cup this morning....

We've spent the day deciding whether to leave this afternoon, or wait until tomorrow to head up to Page and Lake Powell. The quandry is which day will be less windy for the drive. Well, we wasted so much time trying to decide, the decision made itself. We'll stay here until the morning, set an alarm (gasp) and get on the road early, hoping to avoid the predicted windstorm. Dave enjoyed himself watching the Master's Golf Tournament in Augusta, Ga., and then moved right into the NASCAR race in Texas. Oh, and in between, we mowed the poodle's very furry face.
Here are a few pictures I took in Jerome the other day, lest you doze off reading the description of our exciting day.

Jerome is a tiny town of only about 300 people now |
|
there are a few once magnificent buildings, this no longer has its roof! |
|
typical view of the touristy "downtown" with the Grand Hotel in the center, back of the picture |
|
as with most hilly towns, Jerome is a destination for bikers. they seem to love riding on the twisty mountain roads.... |
|
this shop is called "House of Joy". guess what it used to be. |

After walking around in Jerome, we drove up route 89A north into the mountains behind the city. Beautiful views of the red rocks of Sedona in the distance on the curvy, steep road. We stopped for a look at a "vista" point and, once again were followed in by a large number of motorcyclists. I know it wasn't funny, but we had to suppress a giggle when THREE of them dumped their huge Harley's in the parking lot! I would have taken a picture, but I didn't think they were in the mood to see the humor.
Tomorrow promises to be a long, windy drive so I'll head to bed soon. Well, maybe just a little campfire first, then bed.
I am sure Sasha is thrilled to finally get her photo opt.
ReplyDeleteWe missed Jerome. Looks like a quaint little town. Safe travels.
That little trailer was a hoot! Can't imagine going to all that trouble for a weekend!
ReplyDeleteHopefully, you won't have too much wind. It is actually a beautiful day today here. They keep pushing back the storm. Now we aren't expecting rain til Monday night. You should have a safe journey.
ReplyDeleteSasha is really saying, "It's about time!"
Looks like a beautiful little town. Love your photos.
