This is a nice State Park, we have a great site with expansive views of the mountains out Beluga's windshield and plenty of space around us. The hummingbirds are draining our feeder regularly and its been sunny and warm since we got here. What more can I ask?

Beluga looking up at the hillside town of Jerome, can you see it? |

I was feeling a little under the weather today, so we stuck fairly close to home. We drove around the Park, checking out the trail ride starting point, the Verde River and the fishing lagoons fed by the river. Its really a pretty place with lots of places to hike or simply stroll at your own speed.

this family was getting some "how to" instructions before setting off on a ride |

After a little broth for lunch I felt a bit better, so we drove up to Jerome for a little closer look at the quirky town on the mountain. I'll post some pictures tomorrow.
As we sat outside for cocktail hour (tonic for me) we couldn't help but watch a couple pull in across from us and begin to build a little, glass house on a flat trailer they'd pulled in behind their car. We were fascinated watching them carefully insert glass (probably plexiglass, Dave says) "wall" panels on all four sides and the top. Took a long, long time. Then they put up white sheer curtains on the inside of all the glass walls, took in sleeping bags and lots of other things we couldn't identify. I was really photographing birds at our hummingbird feeder, you can see it in the picture, really I was......
When we took the dogs out for a walk tonight, after dark, there was a very bright light on inside, hmmmm.
I wonder if they know everyone can see them through those sheer white curtains......

these interesting clouds (UFO's?) hung over the mountains a long time tonight, but disappeared just before sunset |
You two really must go talk to the makers of the "glass house." I need to know more!! SO VERY strange!
ReplyDeleteHave you been to this area before? Are you planning to drive to Sedona? Wonderful Jeep roads.
Hope you are feeling better tomorrow.
Okay, okay ...in your next life you can be the stealth detective. I'll even pop for one of those little pens that takes pictures while no one suspects! And I'm so glad that you got a picture of this contraption ....I'm with Pam! You gotta go talk with them and ask some more questions. You seem to get the most interesting neighbors! (Of course, your Geneseo neighbors are nothing to slouch about either!)
