Six months, today!

I can't believe it, we've been on the road for 6 months today!  It doesn't seem like it, but when we talk about all the places we've been and things we've seen, I realize it is true.  Now I'm obsessing that we only have 7 months left!

Last night we drove over to the Seven Feather's Casino just to see what all the fuss was about, also to see if any of the restaurants looked promising.  We parked, walked past this huge bronze eagle sculpture and into the Casino.  Nope, not our cup of tea.  We turned right around and walked out.  We couldn't wait to get back to the campground and sit in the beautiful, fresh air.   I guess we're not Casino type folks, I think we knew that before we went in.

This is our windshield view at the Seven Feather's RV Resort.  If you look closely, you may think you're seeing Beluga...confusing.  Turns out the motorhome in the front row was our exact model, sort of like looking in a mirror...We never saw the owners outside, so we don't know where they were from, but it was really neat to see it.    The Casino shuttle makes regular rounds here in the RV Resort, picking up most everyone and ferrying them to gamble.  Its a beautiful campground, an no one here except us.   I guess thats a good thing for me.
last sunset in Oregon (at least for this trip)

hooking up and getting ready to hit the road

the people that re-purposed this old greyhound bus ahead of us have a great sense of humor!

CALIFORNIA!!!    We're in California tonight.  We crossed over from Oregon on I-5 and headed toward Lakehead, Ca..  We heard about a rural campground (Antler's RV Park and Marina) on the shore of Shasta Lake, right up our alley.  Like so many large lakes lately,  Shasta's water level is very, very low but still has some of its fabled houseboats at the docks.  We'll explore the area tomorrow.

As we approached Mt. Shasta we were listening to Ravel's Bolero on our Sirius Radio.  Its a long piece of music and as the mountain loomed closer and closer, the music was growing and growing, adding more and more instruments to its swelling melody - goosebumps!
