Sunday

Ready for the third day of car pictures?  If not, scroll down quickly....

this chopped and channeled old Ford was my favorite.
As I said before, creativity rules here

the attention to detail on every car was incredible

the leather in this  redone 55 Chevy  was like butter

All right.....no more car pictures, but you're missing some really great shots!  I was blown away by the quality and variety.   I bet I have 20 pictures of wheels alone!    Aren't you glad I'm not going to share them with you?

So, back to today.  We decided to stay here another day so we could do a bit more exploring around the area.   First, the NASCAR race, then a drive with the dogs.  Its hard to tear yourself away from the views and the lake right outside Beluga's door, but we managed to go away for a few hours.

Dave gets too excited to sit down and watch

We didn't get started until well after lunch, so we didn't travel as far around the lake shore as we'd originally planned.   Plans are made to be changed, right?    We stopped at most of the overlooks along the way and drove  down a couple of washboardy dirt roads to the lake.  It was still warm, but overcast and very windy.

the rock formations made me think of the Amish hay stacks back home
behind them is a long ridge of black rock

its getting hard to take pictures through the windshield without including the ever expanding crack

we came across a great boondocking spot, see the trailers in the background?
the dogs appreciated a chance to get out and stretch their legs ther

Sasha followed her nose around

and Lewis followed his ball around, what else is new?

It was getting late, so we headed home to grill some chicken for dinner.   Tomorrow we'll leave for a quick overnight stop in Beatty, NV and then on to a favorite place for a few days.  Always moving steadilynorth toward Oregon.

It was so d amn windy we had to have cocktails inside tonight.  the view is the same, inside or out but outside the relentless wind blew the almonds right out of Dave's dish!

back home again
I told you its hard to beat the scenery from our campsite!

  1. Wow ...that is one helluva view!!!!!! Love it! I might just be able to move out there and see that every day.

Stunning cars! They didn't all look like that "back in the day," right?

  2. They certainly do get creative with those Street Rods!

What a beautiful view from your MH, even with the clouds and wind! We had the same weather here when we arrived at Bryce Canyon. Looks like a week of the same weather...yuck!!

Love when the dogs make the blog! I get my animal fix.

    Travel safely today!!!
