Thursday, last day in Bishop for this trip

Two sad sack faces...."Are you leaving us again"?    Don't feel too sorry for them, they sat outside with us for second cup this morning, they had a few treats, Lewis had a session with his fish, and Sasha got a bit of a longer walk before we left them for a few hours.

Turns out Dave couldn't resist the lure of the golf course today. (He's never been a good resister").   First he took a long vigorous walk, did all his stretching exercises and then did a few "test" swings with Big Bertha before pronouncing his back fit for 9 careful holes.   Its his back, right?

As you know, I always enjoy driving the trolley, so off we went.  It was sunny with broken clouds, perfect for golf...

and a bit of fishing.

Sorry, I can't help myself.
I just have to sneak in a few more mountain pictures between the golf shots.
Its just to beautiful
Back to golf.   The course was empty when we started, but people must have been at lunch because all of a sudden it seemed we were waiting for folks ahead of us and had two people following us fairly closely.  Not our favorite way to play, but golfers out here don't seem to play the high stress golf we see in the east, so no worries.  Everyone moves right along, but no one seems to feel any pressure.   Nice.

Yes, that is a million dollar Prevost motorhome behind Dave.  I didn't take a picture of him hitting toward the green, and toward that Prevost, I had my hands over my eyes!  He hit a great shot, right to the pin, thank God.

is that snow?
Deja vous.  A terrific, cold wind suddenly blew up and the rain stung our faces.  Last time we were here almost the same thing happened at almost the same place!  Do we call it quits or soldier on, hoping it will pass?    We kept on playing, dodging from huge cottonwood tree to huge cottonwood tree for shelter from the wind.  Dave dashed out, took his shot, watched it land, then jumped back in the cart and we darted on to the next tree.   Luckily we had brought our fleece vests along.  And, luckily the mini-storm blew through quickly and patches of blue reappeared.   We finished the round and had a good laugh.

A great day!    I'm so glad Dave's back held up.  I guess he knows what he can and can't do, it was a muscle spasm, not the dreaded disc problem so we can be thankful for that.  We drove around the corner, back to our campground and our waiting doggies.   They're so good.

Out back for our afternoon Gin and Tonic, then off again to Thai Thai in the Bishop airport.  What a life!
We're so glad for the recommendation of this restaurant.   It was super and we ate every little morsel.   One more reason to love Bishop.

you'll indulge me on one final mountain picture.   it IS our last night here afterall.
