Golf Tuesday

Today we met Pam and John at Erick Schats Bakery for lunch before our 1:00 tee time at Bishop Country Club.     We sat outside and enjoyed our sandwiches of fresh roasted turkey and free cookies and attempted to unravel the mystery of the sexes.      Failing that and finishing our meal, we drove a couple miles down 395 to the golf course.

I'm not a golfer, so I can't comment on the course's attributes, but I do enjoy driving the trolley around this scenic piece of land framed on one side by the White Mountains and on the other the majestic Sierra Nevadas.      Dave says is it relatively flat. and fairly straightforward but with enough irrigation canals and duck filled ponds (full and empty) to loose a ball or two.

The course is dotted with huge cottonwood trees that give respite from the 85 degree heat (its a dry heat.....).

John always hires a professional caddy to help him carry his heavy clubs and offer sage advice when necessary.     Occasionally she takes a break while he searches for an errant ball.   After all, he doesn't always take her advice, and the new bag is quite heavy ....

Did I mention the beautiful setting?

  2. There seems to have been a fair amount of searching for balls on this day! Can't beat the view!

  3. Your photos are beautiful - what a place to play a round or two! Love the "ball search" and the resting caddie. I think you have the right idea having wheels :-)
