Tuesdays day of rest?

What we see when we open our curtains in the morning
We were awakened this morning by wonderful bird sounds - flickers, nuthatches, chickadees, a piliated woodpecker and the cheery, and surprisingly loud carolina wren.   So much better than an alarm clock!

our lovely wooded site at Skidaway Island State Park

Dave, what are you doing, Dave
Can't a guy even exercise without company?

We decided to drive around a little and check out our immediate surroundings and look for a good place to eat lunch.  Mission accomplished.  We sat by huge windows overlooking a garden with a waterfall and enjoyed a very good meal.
this cute guy was hanging in the trees outside  my window at the restaurant

With our bellies full of shrimp and grouper we continued our exploration and ended up in the historic section of downtown Savannah.  We found the Visitor's Center and got maps and information to plan our next two days of sightseeing.  Our appetite for this fascinating place is certainly whetted.

time to remove the birdfeeder....this guy is driving Lewis crazy

  1. The photo of the two vehicles at the campsite is another beautifully composed, striking shot. Well done!

  2. Aahh...but, the winner of the photo contest goes to Suzi Bank, photographing her husband exercising while the little dog looks on with glee, wanting desperately to join in but can't figure out how to hunker down in that small space! Very creative (on the photographer's part and the poor subject's part!), funny (I was giggling for at least five minutes!), and, gee, I guess the lighting was good. Can't wait for tomorrow's installment.
