Saturday - Second perfect day

Today was Dave's second perfect day in a row.

When we went outside this morning, we accidentally scared away the newest visitors to our bird feeder area - Gambel's quail.   We noticed them last night, and they were back again this morning noisily sifting through the dry leaves below the seed feeder, searching for dropped sunflower meat.  I tried to take pictures of them, but, as before, they are way too fast for me.

Since we had no more lunch meat, we decided to go into Palm Springs to eat before visiting the Palm Springs Air Museum.  I was sure I knew where Rick's restaurant was, but it turns out I didn't.  It was serendipitous, however, because we ended up at the Blue Coyote Grill and had the most wonderful lunch washed down by the best EVER margaritas.  I know we'll be back again before we blow this town in December!

salsa and two "wild coyote margaritas", a good start to a great lunch

It was a partly cloudy, warm and windy day.  The kind of day where you're not too warm, or too cool, just right.

interesting clouds blowing around today

The Palm Springs Air Museum is a beautiful place.  The planes on display are restored and set perfectly and the exhibits are interesting, well thought out, executed and proudly offered.  Plenty of docents everywhere, ready to give information, stories, and history, but interested in hearing the patron's stories and recollections as well.  All together a great experience for us.

hang on to your hat, this hell cat is ready to fly!

this is the only picture I got of it flying by, what a show it put on for us...

Dave was in his glory here.  He had some information that the museum was looking for regarding a source for new/vintage plane radiators and in the process of transferring that info. enjoyed a long chat with a fellow enthusiast and retiree docent.  Our time just flew by, I don't know where the day went.

We got back after the sun set, again, so no pretty pictures.   Nina and Polly dropped by and we sat outside so the dogs could get their romp and we could chat.  Her husband, Paul, will be back tomorrow and it will be nice to include him in our almost nightly conversations.

  1. yup, those looked like hearty margaritas...surprised you could walk out and actually go somewhere else!

It's a good life ...and you're living it! Enjoy.

All's well here ...though the 87 year old has a cold but the college kid is home and we're baking up pumpkin cake today! Can't wait. I love it when she's home with us!

And yes, I did see your reflection ....but I'm glad you mentioned it because I would have missed it!
