Wednesday - water and no water

Another beautiful day.  After coffee outside we took the dogs out to the desert for a good walk.  Acres of sand and sagebrush right outside the campground just for us!

Dave had a good  conversation with Jerry and I talked with Cindy P while he was outside on the phone. Its good to catch up with friends. After lunch we headed out to return a dvd and look for a few needed supplies.

our morning coffee spot

who is going to go around that bush to untangle the poodle's leash??? Its a stand off.

better to walk where there are fewer bushes

we took a different route into Palm Springs today, through the windfarms

that is Desert Hot Springs in the background,  nestled into the Little San Bernardino Mountains

I love the Palo Verde trees here in the desert

bougainvillea blossoms in the sun

this grass is so perfect it looks like it has been painted on

one of the hundreds of impeccable golf courses

Another afternoon of exploring our surroundings under the guise of shopping.....we didn't buy what we were looking for, but really got a good look around.  We were struck by the power the possession of water gives and the difference it makes in the look of the land and  in the line it draws  between the haves and the have nots.....

No sunset pictures again tonight.  It comes so early and we're still out doing things.  While I was making macaroni salad for dinner, Nina stopped by with Polly.  We invited them in for a glass of wine (water for Polly) and we chatted for the longest time.  Sasha parked herself under the table to stay safe and the other two idiots played and played until they were exhausted.  After they left, Dave cooked some hot dogs (in the dark) and we settled down to watch the Dancing with The Stars elimination show.  Polly seemed to have energized Lewis instead of tiring him out....the tennis ball was flying all evening, back and forth, back and forth.  He never gives up!

  1. that's Lewis ...live hard, play hard! He's such an adventurous soul ...good thing that he's with the two of you!

thanks for the blog suggestions ...they're both delightful. wheelingit and rvsueandcrew. so much fun to read and see how people spend their time in this life. I love it! Reminds me that each day is precious, however we choose to spend it.

Me? Oh, I'm spending it considering how to fit another dachshund into my life. Even Geneva's roommate says: huh? what does your mom need another dog for?? Hmnnn...yup. I don't know either...it comes from somewhere within me. And my very sweet husband tells me: it's okay. we'll give her to ourselves as a Christmas gift. He's a keeper!!!

OK ...gotta run and get ready for work. Love to go see the people in my work life. Guess I'm kind of grounded to NY right now but I sure am enjoying all the possibilities in the world.
