We crossed the mighty Mississippi and we're in another state tonight. Lazy Day Campground in little Danville, Missouri is a really lovely place. Nice landscaping, plenty of grass and trees and decent privacy, pleasant owners who obviously take pride in their place.
Most of today's drive was in rain. Sometimes spitting, sometimes pouring and I just heard thunder in the distance. We're happy to be in for the night, driving in the rain is no fun.
We're carrying the hibiscus tree that sat outside at the cottage this summer. We couldn't bear to leave it behind, knowing it probably wouldn't make it through the winter with the heat turned down to 50 degrees inside the cottage. We're hoping that Jesse and Erin will take good care of it for us.
It's growing enthusiastically in front of Beluga's bedroom window. I love seeing it there, although my clothes always seem to be full of pollen from brushing past its stamens.
Look like a lovely site. Love Lew with the pretty bush:)
ReplyDeleteGlad y’all are safe. We are on the road today and going in and out of rain. Yuck!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a pretty site. Not a fan of the driving in the rain but sometimes (like when we left Moab) it's unavoidable in one's schedule to get somewhere else. The Hibiscus is gorgeous, one of my Mom's favorites. Too bad it's pollinating your clothes - it looks pretty right there :-) Hi Lewis!!
ReplyDeleteI like that you didn't leave that pretty little hibiscus behind.
