Thursday we had a beautiful morning with beautiful friends at a beautiful Garden...it was a beautiful day! We went to Red Butte Garden with Jack and Marilyn and then out to a fantastic lunch at Niche. The Garden is a non-profit botanical and ecological center provided by the University of Utah located in the foothills of the Wasatch Range.

The setting is lovely and the gardens and natural areas are very carefully planned and maintained. Everywhere you look, inside buildings and outside, details are perfectly orchestrated with an artists eye.
The only area that offends the eye is the construction zone, where earth movers lumber along, and worker's are crawling around the area that will soon be a three acre garden designed to test, display and interpret water-wise landscaping principles. It too, will become part of the wonderful landscape.
Enjoy some pictures from our exploration of the Red Butte Garden...

Friday morning Dave and Jack played golf again and later in the day Dave and I drove down to Provo to pick up our finished 2016 Jeep Wrangler. More on that next time.
Beautiful! Congrats on your new purchase!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful indeed!! Such an incredible variety to enjoy this time of year. The lacy white Wisteria (which I have never seen!) and the two sided Coleus (?) leaf, and the bright red thorns....and just all of it is lovely. Figured it was a four-door Wrangler and can't wait to see where you get up to now!
ReplyDeleteI would like to be there, those flowers and plants seemed to be on their peak blooms. This is right in my alley, if only this place is closer to our stop in Provo.
ReplyDeleteI heard about the new bling with wheels, can't wait to see it.
That arbor of wisteria is just gorgeous! Makes me miss our arbor at home -- just a little, not too much. :-) Congratulations on your new wheels!
ReplyDeleteAll the wisteria is just gorgeous! It's always been a favorite. Oh, Dave is right. But he looks so cute smelling the flowers:) That Southwest bonsai is adorable!! Glad to see you are having such a nice visit with friends:) Can't wait for the next post!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful garden. I'll keep that in mind for our next time through SLC. Enjoy that Jeep!
