all work and no play....

makes Jack a dull boy.  Work Work Work, it seems all we're doing at home.  At the end of the day (sometimes as early as 7:30) we both sit down on the couch and absolutely zonk out!   Then we go to bed.....and morning comes too fast.

It was a fairly warm day (60's) so we took full advantage and mowed the poodle, then Dave continued the job du jour - emptying and cleaning out the the big horse barn.    A barn without animals in it is a sad thing.     No, no more horses for now, but we do need to give it a bit of TLC.

taking a break

Tonight Cindy and Walter came up the hill and shared a fish fry with us.   We enjoyed the company and the fish (not as good as O'Shuck's, but pretty decent nonetheless).    We vowed to try a different place every Friday and that will be fun to look forward to.

  1. I feel you pain! This project of getting the property ready is not a fun time. Hang in there, it will be completed before you know it:) Glad you have Friday fish fries to look forward to enjoying!

  2. I guess this is all part of wrapping up this chapter of your lives ....but, very dirty work. Dave looks all bundled up and he cleaned up really nice for dinner! Thanks for your hospitality and company last night. We really needed a break and came back to our home feeling more refreshed (and full!) That Coconut cobbler was outstanding! Hmnnnn good!

  4. Brings back memories of feeling overwhelmed and we did not have big barns to clean out on our property. I am glad to see you are getting in some play to keep life in balance during this challenging time. Keep your eye on the prize.

  5. Love your shots, Sue it captivated Dave's busyness very well.

  6. Cleaning up a wonderful old barn seems so much more "fun" than preparing a house in the suburbs, but I know that when you're ready to be done with something it all just feels like a huge chore. Great pictures, I can smell the old wood and the remnants of past inhabitants.
